Receiving "internal error" when trying to run components

You may get this error if you are using the components in an ASP.NET environment where the web user does not have the necessary permissions to run some encryption algorithms needed by components.

Prior to using any component in ASP.NET environment add the following code:

RSACryptoServiceProvider.UseMachineKeyStore = true;

If for either ASP.NET or non ASP.NET environment you still get this error this means that the Machine Key directory does not have the proper read/write permissions. This directory is usually located in in the folder "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys". Be sure to grant read/write permissions to the appropriate users (ASPNET user for ASP.NET applications). By default this folder will have the required permissions unless it has changed from the initial OS install, however there appears to be a bug in Windows that mistakingly sets this folder to read-only when adjusting file permissions.
