Unable to upload files larger than 2M using PHP and HTTP File Upload Applet
Posted by Van Glass on 02 April 2008 01:21 PM
By default, PHP is configured to allow file uploads of a maximum of 2MB. This PHP setting will prevent you from being able to upload files larger than 2MB when using HTTP File Upload Applet. To resolve this issue you will need to change some variables in your PHP configuration file (php.ini) and restart your web server for these changes to take effect. The variables you should change are as follows:

upload_max_filesize - Maximum upload filesize.
post_max_size - Maximum size of POST request. Should be greater than upload_max_filesize.
memory_limit - Maximum memory usage limit per PHP request. Should be greater than upload_max_filesize.
max_execution_time - Maximum execution time for PHP request. Should be longer than expected time to upload file of size upload_max_filesize.
