Unable to connect to administrative service
Posted by Van Glass on 04 March 2009 09:41 PM
If you are unable to connect to the administrative service for JSCAPE MFT Server the causes are as follows:

1. Service is not running. Check that the service is running on the expected IP/port.

2. Firewall is blocking incoming connections. Check that firewall is not blocking incoming connections to administrative service.

3. Client IP has been blocked. If you fail authentication with administrative service too many times in a short period your client IP can be blocked. These settings are controlled under the File > Settings > Manager Service > Security panel of JSCAPE MFT Server Manager. To reset these options outside of JSCAPE MFT Server Manager perform the following:

a. Shutdown administrative service for JSCAPE MFT Server.

b. Delete the security.dat file located in the installation directory of JSCAPE MFT Server. This will delete any blocked client IP's from the list and reset to default settings.

c. Restart administrative service.

d. Attempt to reconnect using JSCAPE MFT Server Manager.
