Can't change key exchange algorithms used by trigger actions
Posted by John Villanueva on 16 October 2017 07:12 PM

You may have encountered situations wherein your trigger actions fail to connect to remote SFTP servers due to incompatible key exchange algorithms (kex algorithms). For example, after reviewing the debug logs, you discover that the remote SFTP server only supports diffie-hellman-group14-sha1, while your trigger only supports diffie-hellman-group1-sha1.

When you attempt to remedy the situation by changing the key exchange algorithms in Services > SFTP/SCP tab > Algorithms, you don't see any improvement. The debug logs still show you're only using diffie-hellman-group1-sha1.

Actually, the algorithms settings you're seeing is only for the SFTP service (i.e. the JSCAPE MFT Server SFTP server). It's currently not possible to change the algorithm settings for the triggers (which act as SFTP 'clients'). Older versions of JSCAPE MFT Server only support the diffie-hellman-group1-sha1 kex algorithm.

If you want access to more key exchange algorithms for your SFTP trigger actions, you need to upgrade to the latest version of JSCAPE MFT Server, which supports more kex algorithms.

The latest version of JSCAPE MFT Server can be downloaded from here:
