When performing a migration to another machine, you might encounter the following error and wouldn't be able to login or even start up MFT Server: Cannot assign requested address: bind

This issue occurs if you have services bound to a specific IP (the IP of the old machine) in your original installation and you're moving the installation to another machine that doesn't have that IP address.

There are two ways to resolve this issue:

1. You can "transfer" the IP address of the old machine to the new one.


2. Modify or add/delete all service(s) and use on the original machine before proceeding with the migration process. Include the web server (Settings>Web>Web) and management service (Settings>Web>REST).
